Another round of chemotherapy is complete, and we focus on the next MRI in November. Continue the prayers, as we continue fighting to BTHO Brain Cancer!

Throughout these last 18 months, I've had the opportunity to connect and develop friendships with people that, from the outside looking in, it seems that we wouldn't have much in common, it appears there would not be a reason for such a deep bond or connection. But sometimes, when God hands you something as difficult in your life as cancer, the outside looking in similarities mean nothing, instead you look at one another, give each other a hug, and you just get it.  It's amazing how the talks about chemotherapy, the terrible side effects, the anxiety of scans/MRIs, and overall stress involved with fighting cancer become your new normal. Dad Update: 5/20/2014

"Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength." I read that quote and I immediately thought of Dad- true strength. He has never complained, never stopped fighting and has continued to hold everything together during his treatment, I am just so incredibly proud of him.  Dad started another round of chemotherapy last night and will have another Avastin treatment today. We just continue to pray the treatments are working, we continue to pray Dad continues to feel good throughout his treatments, and we continue to pray for a miracle- complete healing. I can't tell you for certain if the treatments are working, if the cancer growth has stopped or if Dad is in remission- what I can tell you is how all of this has changed me, how all of this has changed my family and how all of this has been more of a blessing than a curse. Sunday Is Coming: Dad Update 4/23/2014

Sunday's sermon at church was absolutely perfect for my family, the title: 'Sunday Is Coming'. Our Pastor explained how horrible of a day Good Friday was for Jesus, and how many of us experience our own personal 'Good Fridays' in life. But just as Jesus experienced his Good Friday, he also experience Easter Sunday- the day of Resurrection, a day of celebration.  The same God that gives us our own 'Good Fridays', is the same God that gives us our 'Easter Sundays'- Sunday is always coming.  Yesterday, Sunday came for our family. Dad's MRI noted no additional tumor growth, and the area of concern showed less contrast- all good news! The MRI also showed a slight bleed, but after reviewing the MRI with Dad's Neurosurgeon, Dad's Oncologist wasn't too concerned with the bleed. We are lucky to have two doctors who work so well together, and two doctors who are extremely cautious, so Dad will be having a CAT scan in 2 weeks to monitor the blee...
